Ecuador College Fund
Please help us support a young girl who has aged out of the orphanage we worked with in Ecuador to continue pursuing her dreams of a college degree. For $100 a month we can make sure she has the food, housing, books and education she needs. Such a small cost for such a vital, life-saving opportunity.
Let's surround her as family even from afar by letting her know she's loved, that she matters, that she has a hope and a future. Please help. There are countless needs beyond our control in this world - but let's take care of this one, today.
"I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you..."
College education is public in Ecuador. With even a few classes, job possibilities open up. In a developing country, the alternatives, especially for young girls, aren't good to say the least. Kids age out of the orphanage around 16 or 17 and are on their own. Even with "free" public college, or very affordable private colleges, those from the orphanage with not a penny to their name or family to help them are often unable to go to school and cover basic living expenses. Job availability without college education is very hard to find, especially for a young lady with no contacts so a college education is vital. Many in such situations around the world end up back on the streets they were rescued from as children, begging and working to survive in often deplorable situations. She can avoid this.
Fatima is a wonderful lady who provides primary care to dozens of children at an orphanage in Olon, Ecuador. She helped raise a little girl at the orphanage who lived there since she was 7. Fatima is her only contact. Fatima is her momma. This little girl has now aged out of the orphanage, but did well in school and wants to attend college. She has already begun, but needs shockingly minimal funds to continue succeeding in this goal, and rise above her lonely, challenging circumstance.
There are many mothers whose children are born from broken situations in this fallen world. These mother's bear their children by rescuing them from desperate situations, drawing them close to their hearts. Please help me give Fatima, a mother to many, a gift that she can pass along to her girl. Fatima earns no income but works for the LORD loving His children, living day to day on His provision along with her kids.
It wouldn't take very much for us to help support this young lady through a year of college, less than even one course would cost at my alma mater. Please help us raise $1,000 for this daughter of our King. To help her pay for housing, food, and books - but also to remind her that she is not an orphan. As Jesus said, "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you." He can do this through His family today.
