To start, I'll try to answer a question we receive fairly often of late:
"So, what are y'all up to these days?"
Great question, without a simple answer. In short, here's what we're up to:
Project: Bible Land Media
In the interim we have made a short-term commitment to a project that occupies most of our working hours each week. We are assisting in the organization and management of a large video/image collection of the land of the Bible; media from modern day Israel, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan...and so on. It's good stuff and the job requirements utilize each of our unique skill sets making it even more fun to work together. We're committed to this project until the end of October at which point we'll agree to continue or move on to other fun challenges.
Travel the Text
While most of our time is spent with the media project, Travel the Text calls our attention a few times each day as well. Travel the Text is the name of the business we started involving leading groups to Israel, giving seminars, teachings, etc. concerning the land of the Bible. Geoff is the secret weapon of knowledge and insight on this mission, and I work to hammer out all myriad of associated details. We have several groups lined up for 2014 and are busy refining teaching materials and travel plans.
The rest of our "after-work" hours are spent in various forms of demolition/reconstruction as we work to renovate sections of the house we are currently living in. As previously mentioned, we are thankful to have a place to stay while in transition that allows us to "renovate for rent." We love projects like these and will update you on the progress with this old house in an upcoming post.
So that's a little bit about what we're up to these days. More details of each to come so stay posted - I'll do a better job of adding blogging to the to-do list!
