Yes, thirty. For three decades you have explored this world, gleaning and sharing the good and dismantling and attacking the bad. You have never settled for mediocre nor have you let go of your ideals. You expect the best. You pursue and follow Love.
It hasn't been easy though. You have made tremendous sacrifices. You can't go to a grocery store and not feel a twinge of remorse at the exploitation of others to bring you all of your food options. You have to question every resource used and attempt to make it more efficient. You grieve when you think that perfect Love came 2000 years ago, and there are still people who don't know what that means.
You have extreme wealth. Friends all over the world. More experiences than most people would have in ten lifetimes. Wisdom that only comes through those experiences. A family - immediate and extended - that supports you no matter what. A dog who would do anything for you that loves you for your throwing arm. And a drop-dead-good-looking husband to boot. :-)
You have a home. Sure, it's not necessarily your own, but you have people in so many corners of the earth who would welcome you back with open arms. They would hope you could stay forever, but know that it would only be temporary. "Home" is such an interesting term, too. You are surrounded by friends and family who love you for who you are and wherever you are. That feels like home.
You have children. I know this is the hardest for you. You have no child that you walk with day in and day out to call your own. Endless smiling faces, however, represent the lives you've touched. Thousands of children have been impacted by you directly and indirectly. Because you settle for nothing short of Jesus, you have reached out to countless lives - both young and old. These "children" rise up in the morning and call you blessed. They want to be just like you when they grow up because you have shown them a G-D who LOVES. You have been Jesus to them, and they can't help but want to have more.
So Jamie, thank you for your three decades. I'd say you have a great head-start on the future. Jesus' ministry began when He was "about thirty." You're thirty and look what you have to show for it already. I can only imagine what G-D will do through you in the next decade and beyond. Really, I can't wait to see it!
Thanks for showing us all what it means to love and be loved. Thank you for sharing your wealth, extending your home, and loving so many amazing kids.
YOU ARE THE BEST!
I love you, Jamie!
