BUT WE GET TO GO!!! I need this visit more than even I realized and am now so excited I can barely walk straight. Not that I was a pro in that field before. We've been searching for flights since returning from Israel this summer using our web of frequent flyer miles and finally found a way to get there last night. It's last minute, but that's how we roll.
Here's what we need from you - we've got a few empty bags we'd love fill up with kids (from baby to teenager) clothing, books, school supplies or other basic kid stuff and take to the orphanage and need your HELP.
If you have the opportunity this weekend to sort through things, or know of others who may have something you can pick up from them let us know. We would love to provide the kids at the orphanage in Ecuador with some "new" clothes, shoes - anything.
If you don't have any items for donation but would like to help we'll also be collecting cash donations that we will use to buy used clothing and new underwear/socks, and other supplies to take down there next Wednesday.
We are in the Temple/Belton area, but will be up in Abilene this weekend - Saturday primarily, and heading back through Early/Brownwood on Sunday afternoon. If you have anything we could take down please let us know in the comments or contact area of this blog, or in a message to me on Facebook. My email is Jamie@carrollcrossroads.com. If you are in the Temple/Belton area I can let you know where you can drop things off for us, or we can come pick them up, just let us know.
We are both so excited! I don't know how they'll get me on the plane when it's time to come home, but I'm so thankful even for the opportunity of this short visit. Please help us bless them as much as possible by helping to meet some of these basic needs.
