The majority flew out last night and the rest were on their way this morning after a full couple of weeks as we engaged the land of the Bible with intense study and learning. We are so thankful for the time we had with this group and pray that this experience continues to bless, encourage, and challenge us all.
We had a great crew (right) helping us out, with a fantastic silent guide and one of the best bus drivers in the land. They helped us add a professional level to the trip and were great assistance to our group members needs in many ways throughout their time.
I'm also thankful to have another young Carroll man growing happily within me, listening to his daddy teach all day while we walk through the land of the Bible. He's already a well travelled little baby and seems to be enjoying the concept (this may come in handy during his life). I have felt better during this trip than I have at any point in the pregnancy and am treasuring every day.
One of the teachings Geoff emphasized throughout the trip was the Sh'ma. Love GOD, Love others. You can't do one without the other. We repeated this every day, both in English and Hebrew (as Jesus would have spoken it). It's amazing how many Biblical lessons lead us back to this all too simple, foundational, world-altering teaching. This is how you bring the Kingdom of Heaven to earth.
Love the L-RD your G-D with all your heart,
and with all your soul, and with all your might.
And love your neighbor as yourself.
