Camping in particular was quite the experience for this pregnant woman. I love camping, but this was the first time I'd camped with a baby belly, or in such cold temperatures. It got down to 20 degrees the one night we dared check to find out exactly how cold we were. When the condensation on the inside of the truck freezes, you know you're livin' large.
And then there were the bathroom facilities. Technically the forests offered an en suite bathroom - right outside the truck door. All I had to do was lug myself out of the warm-er sleeping bag into the freezing cold...more times a night than would have been preferred. Every third night we managed to find a motel or friends house and the comparative luxury was blissful. Such gifts as temperature control, comfortable beds, and indoor plumbing are not to be taken for granted.
