Reyah has been a serious trooper for the travels. She is beyond tired of being made to stay off her feet, completely resents being carried everywhere, and all she wants is the freedom to run and play.
But tonight, after driving to Amarillo all morning, and staying in the car (we did check on her...) for all afternoon meetings, she finally got a treat. We had the great honor of having dinner at the house of some wonderful people we met in Israel. They were part of the group Geoff led back in January and it was so good to be reunited with them, and another couple from that trip, tonight. Well, they just happen to live at the lip of the Palo Duro Canyon area and their view couldn't be more stunning.
For some pre-dinner entertainment, we all piled into the Polaris. Reyah got to come. Though she spent the beginning of the trip crying with resentment that she couldn't run along ahead, she finally relaxed and enjoyed the change of scenery and fresh air.
It got better. Dessert happened. Yes, from scratch gluten-free brownies. With icecream and chocolate sauce of course. Do I feel loved? Absolutely. I also feel full. Very, very full. And happy. Fat and happy. So I'm going to sleep now. Goodnight from Amarillo!
