Unfortunately, circumstances did not allow us to stay in Ecuador as long-term as we originally intended. The week our hope ran out to stay in Ecuador for the more immediate long-term, we were invited to return to Israel. We followed the open door and Geoff's dream of living here again.
Our time in Israel has looked nothing like we anticipated, as projects and needs change continually and we do whatever is asked of us on a day-to-day basis. This takes a toll on my plan-oriented, efficiency preferring personality, but we're still so thankful to be here. Beyond June 20th, a brown lab, and each other - we have no idea what the beautiful blank slate that is our future will hold. We actually have very little idea what even tomorrow will hold.
We have learned to cherish the uncertainty of future. Whether we have plans or not, future is always uncertain; it's a blessing to be able to recognize it so clearly. The dreams and potential the LORD can bring out of such opportunity are astounding; especially when we don't get too caught up in defining our own path. We can certainly bear witness to that this past year. For now, we're overwhelmingly thankful for the last year, and looking forward to the next...
